Regional Shipping Services Pte. Ltd., was set up in 1982 to provide shipping services to the shipping community in Singapore and the Asean region.

 

We started with our main activity as a second hand  container leasing company, hiring containers to shipping lines or shippers who needed short or long term leases at lower rates. We filled the demand for those in the shipping community who baulked at the high leasing rates and much more complex leasing terms offered by the big leasing boys. We established our niche in leasing our fleet of containers to shipping lines serving the regional routes.

 

Our master mariners were then actively involved in container ship planning in the capacity of local and central (regional) ship stowage planners for some container shipping lines serving Australia and South East Asia.

 

Another initial main activitiy was cargo condition survey, specializing in bagged cargoes and laboratory testing of coffee, cocoa beans and illipenuts, loading and discharging of big bulky and long length cargoes.

 

With changing trends, we subsequently entered into other marine activities like commandeering vessels  to/from regional countries for deliveries and re-deliveries  where we also supply the entire crew of all ranks up to ship masters.

 

In partnership with Malaysian counterparts, we provided long distance road forwarding of oil and gas spare parts & equipment to/from Peninsula Malaysia and Thailand on a regular basis, with warehousing facility in Singapore.

 

Simultaneously we obtained the contract to plan, organize and co-ordinate tug & barge shipments of oil well equipment from Singapore to the oil rigs in Malaysia for the oil majors.

 

Today, we provide complete agency, crewing and ship husbandry services for vessels which call at Singapore for  bunker, cargo works or for repairs.

 

Our compact organizational set-up means that we are able to provide our services at competitive fees with prompt and personalized support.

 

We physically attend to all operations and give our clients  feedback with suggestions for improvements.
